Multi Device Diagnostic App

Internal proof of concept for IoT diagnostic control app.

Assigned to an internal proof of concept project developing a mobile app that controls and reads diagnostic codes for IoT devices, mainly in automotive use.

My role within the project was to design the look and feel of the application. I created both graphic assets and produced deliverable content to the developers.

Research military unit heraldry and create website.

While working as the Unit Public Affairs Representative for the 144th Military Police Company, I was assigned to not only create a unit website from scratch, but also to research the lineage and history of the unit. I began by researching the company records, transcribing official documents, scanning photographs dating back to the late 19th Century. Built the full website once a design was approved. I managed and updated the website from 2012-2014, during my duration in the Public Affairs role.

Civic UX Research & Crisis Management

Conducted quantitative and qualitative research to develop a solution to address local opiod epidemic.

Worked as part of a multi-disciplinary graduate project at the University of Michigan, with the Ferndale, Michigan Police Department to develop ways to address the opiod crisis in the area. While on the project, conducted user research and stakeholder interviews within the community, in order to develop an analysis of the situation and potential ways to make an impact. The end result was development of an "Opiod Harm Reduction Kit" which are staged in strategic points throughout the community to help those in need.

Community Research and Profile

Conducted quantitative and qualitative research to develop a community profile for the local public library.

Conducted user research and stakeholder interviews on behalf of Houghton Lake Public Library in order to develop a SWOT analysis of the community and the greater Roscommon County area. The desired end-state of the library was to better understand the people that they serve and how they can better help them. After analyzing data acquired through qualitative and quantitative research, I developed a report of the community and recommendations of how the library can be more engaged and directly address the needs of their populace.

While working as part of a user experience testing team from the University of Michigan, collaborated with Data Driven Detroit and the city of Detroit to conduct Citizen User Testing Groups (CUTGroups). Government Website Accessibility

ADA Compliance as part of government website update.

While working for Lochbridge, we contracted with the State of Ohio to redo their Secretary of State website and make it ADA compliant. I was involved in two stages of this project. The first stage was testing all of the individual webpages and assosciated PDF forms to insure that they were fully ADA compliant for Accessibility. The second stage was to begin correcting minor violations on pages through HTML coding and through forms with the PDF layout. This also included fixing and repairing government forms in both English and Spanish.

While I was responsible for both of these phases, my main contribution was working directly with Adobe to understand how to utilize Acrobat Pro to recreate PDF forms in order to be fully accessible.

Campus Information Center Event Website

Conduct UX research to determine cause of low website traffic.

Worked with the University of Michigan Campus Information Center to determine the cause of low student/user interest pertaining to their interactive online event calendar. Started by interviewing the client, and then conducted user testing and recording feedback. After collecting data from oberserving users and asking critical questions, constructed an affinity wall to identify the key pain points of the website. After identifying the main causes of low website traffic, compiled a report and presented findings to the client.
